Russia Won’t Send More Warships to the Black Sea
Russia won’t strengthen its group of warships in the Black Sea, although it has capacity for it, said the RF General Staff Deputy Chief General-Colonel Anatoly Nogovitsyn, RIA Novosti reported.
Nowadays, there are too many warships of NATO in the Black Sea, Nogovitsyn specified. “It’s a tight fit for such group of forces in the Black Sea, the more so that each warship has tracking devices and the reconnaissance radius is from 300km to 400km. So, the situation isn’t normal, of course.”
“But the tasks are clear to us and we endeavor to adhere to peacekeeping functions on land, and to confirm permanency of Russia’s standing by naval forces of the Black Sea Fleet. We don’t intend to add any group of forces to the Black Sea Fleet, although Russia has [ships] for adding,” Nogovitsyn pointed out.
