Entrapped Georgians Surrender in South Ossetia
Russia’s troops in South Ossetia are disarming the entrapped military units of Georgia, the RF General Staff Deputy Chief General-Colonel Anatoly Nogovitsyn told RIA Novosti August 11.
“Russia’s troops in South Ossetia have proceeded to disarming and capturing the entrapped unites of Georgian army,” Nogovitsyn said.
The RF Air Force has gained final control over the air of South Ossetia. Russia’s jets are bombing military facilities of Georgia, communication lines, places of amassment of the 2nd echelon troops. They also carry out reconnaissance.
The officer again refuted the allegations of certain mass media about bombing attacks on civilians. “Only the military targets are attacked. We have never bombed and won’t bomb Tbilisi or the international airport or any other settlements in Georgia,” Nogovitsyn specified.
