Investigators Brought In Criminal Action for Murders in South Ossetia
The Investigating Committee of the RF Prosecutor General Office (the North Ossetia’s department) has initiated a criminal action following murders in the conflict area of Georgia and South Ossetia, RIA Novosti reported. The clause is “intentional killing of at least two persons by generally dangerous means.”
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev committed the Investigating Committee of the RF Prosecutor General Office to collect and document evidences of crimes in South Ossetia. Medvedev called genocide the actions of Georgia in its breakaway province.

A group of investigators is probing into the case of killing Russia’s peacekeepers in South Ossetia. Moscow said it will probably go to international courts to attract their representatives to investigating the killing of people in the conflict area.

According to preliminary estimate, 18 servicemen of Russia were killed and over 150 were wounded in the course of the military conflict with Georgia that started the night of August 7-8. South Ossetia’s death toll is roughly 2,000. Over 90 Georgians were killed and dozens wounded in that war.
