August 8, the participants of the anti-war rally near the Georgian Embassy in Moscow pitched a tent town in front of the building, Interfax reported. According to the information of the agency, some 100 people take part in the rally. Gazeta.ru reports 300 demonstrators.
The Young Russia, the Young Guard The Eurasian Youth Union, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and other political parties and movements organized a rally in support of South Ossetia. There are even several Ossetians among those rallying.

It’s known that the demonstrators will stay in front of the embassy’s premises until the bloodshed is stopped.

Russian political organizations have launched a large-scale campaign in defense of South Ossetia. Several movements signed a statement calling on their supporters to begin “a media war against the regime of President Mikhail Saakashvili” on the Internet.

The Movement Against Illegal Immigration (DPNI) announced collecting data about “Georgia’s bases in Russia” at its Internet forum site. That is they’re gathering information about everything that belongs to Georgians on the territory of the Russian Federation, or is connected with them. Besides, the DPNI is preparing an appeal to the Russian government urging a deportation of Georgia’s “fifth column” from Russia.

The Young Guard’s Nizhny Novgorod department is going to launch the “We don’t finance war!” campaign on August 12, Rosbalt reported. Leader of the regional office Sergey Bocharov called on his fellow citizens to abstain from buying goods made in Georgia. He pointed out that they managed to reach agreement with several retail and wholesale businesses obliging them to take off Georgian items from the shelves.
