Chechens Ready for Peacekeeping Mission in South Ossetia
Military in Chechnya are ready to perform the peacekeeping mission in South Ossetia if Russia’s leadership resolves, Chechnya’s President Ramzan Kadyrov said.
“The Chechen Republic is the constituent of the Russian Federation. All issues of foreign policy, the use of armed forces in any conflicts are solved by leadership of the country. And the Chechen Republic doesn’t intend and may not take any actions beyond it,” Kadyrov told Interfax Friday.

“Naturally, if the political authorities of Russia resolve to use as peacekeeping forces the divisions stationed in the Chechen Republic, we will endeavor to make this mission successful,” Kadyrov said, reminding that the servicemen from Chechnya are amid the peacekeepers already.
