Reward for Sochi Blast Information
The Department of Internal Affairs (police) in Sochi is offering a reward of 2 million rubles for information on an explosion that occurred on the beach in the resort town of Loo, Bolshoi Sochi District, Interfax information agency reports. Two people, a Russian citizen and a Ukrainian citizen, were killed in the blast. The explosion occurred at about 10:00 a.m. yesterday, when a man and a woman opened a package they found on the beach. They were both killed. Bystanders, either three or four people by various reports, were injured and have been hospitalized. One of them has had his leg amputated.
So far, investigators have no theories about the incident and there are no suspects. Specialists working at the scene have not found any other explosive devices. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has given presidential representative for the Southern Federal District Vladimir Ustinov personal control over the case. A criminal investigation is underway in the case.
