Russia’s Business to Award Olympic Winners
Far Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO) and Marine Bank of Primorye will establish a Prize Fund of $300,000 for the sportsmen that will stand for Russia in yachting at Beijing Summer Olympics.
The decision to set up a Prize Fund wasn’t accidental, FESCO announced. “For long, Russia has had no one able to compete for prize places. Nowadays, first time from 1980 Olympics, the Russians have a real chance for Olympic medals in yachting,” the statement says.

When it comes to yachting, Russia will compete at Beijing Olympics in Yngling (keelboat, three persons; women), 470 (two persons; men); Laser (one person dinghy; men), Finn (one person heavyweight; men), RS:X (windsurfer; men and women).

The highest hopes of All-Russian Yachting Federation are for Yngling, where the team of Ekaterina Skudina will sail for the country.

The Games of the XXIX Olympiad will begin in Beijing August 8 to last till August 24. The yachting races are scheduled for August 9 to 21, Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center.
