Russia’s Humanitarian Aid Reached Ukraine
A lorry column with the humanitarian aid of Russia’s Emergency Ministry arrived past night at Ivano-Frankovsk from the Moscow region. Ukrainian Ivano-Frankovsk is the center of the territory mostly hit by the recent heavy floods.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin committed the Emergency Ministry July 31 to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine and Moldova that suffered from heavy floods. Two lorry columns with pumps, diesel generators, disinfectants and other cargo were sent to those two states. Besides, a jet of the Emergency Ministry with food and drinking water headed for Ukraine.

The second column has been sent to Chisinau, Moldova.

Ukraine and Moldova had addressed the world community seeking the aid to eliminate aftereffects of devastating floods. A number of states responded in no time, sending boats, tents, sleeping bags to them.

As of August 5, 19 settlements and 693 houses of six western regions of Ukraine are still flooded (vs. hundreds of settlements and dozens of thousand houses a few days ago).

As to Moldova, the peak of the flood was recorded July 31, but the situation in unrecognized Transdniestria Republic still causes alarm. There, downtown Tiraspol was flooded by the Dnestr.
