76,000 Celebrate Trooper Day in Russia
About 76,000 former storm troopers took part in the celebration of the professional holiday Storm Troopers Day on August 2. More than 35,000 internal forces soldiers maintained order for it, RIA Novosti information agency reports, citing press secretary of the Interior Ministry department of public order Olga Shklyarova.
Shklyarova noted that the most active celebrations were held in Moscow, Ryazan and St. Petersburg. Where 19,000, 5000 and 3500 people took part, respectively. “As part of the celebratory events in Moscow, flowers and wreathes were laid on Suvorovskaya Square to the memory of troopers who lost their lives while performing their professional duty,” Shklyarova said. The celebration ended without serious incident.”
