Programmer Wanted for Blocking PM
An employee of Network Technologies Laboratory in the city of Dubna, outside Moscow, is wanted federally on suspicion of sabotaging a live broadcast of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. The unnamed computer programmer is being charged under article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Improper Access to Computer Information”), reports the RBC information agency, citing law enforcement.
Investigators say that the programmer made changes to a computer program on May 26, 2008, that caused a blockage of the local network. As a result of this technical difficulty, a live teleconference between Putin and the Russian regions had to be cancelled. Special economic zones were to be the topic of that discussion.
