Ilyushin Finance, Cuban Aviaimport Agreed on Supplies
Russia’s leasing company Ilyushin Finance and Cuban Aviaimport S.A. have clinched a deal to supply a mid-range Tu-204SE to Cubana de Aviacion in the third quarter, Ilyushin Finance reported.
It will be the seventh jet that Ilyushin Finance will supply to Cuba from December of 2005. Nowadays, Cubana de Aviacion operates three long-range Il-96-300 passenger jets, two mid-range Tu-204-100 passenger jets and a Tu-204SE cargo plane.
A center for Russia’s aircraft maintenance has been established in Cuba.
“Cuba has expressed interest in buying more jets of Russia. The negotiations are underway,” said Ilyushin Finance Director Alexander Rubstov. The jets are delivered under the RF government program for financial support of industrial export, and Vneshekonombank is the principal creditor of foreign buyers.
