Russia Advocates Direct Talks of Belgrade, Pristine
Moscow stands for resuming direct talks of Belgrade and Pristine, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced after the meeting with his Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremic, RIA-Novosti reported.
Russia’s proposal to the Security Council to resume negotiations of Belgrade and Pristine is of current importance, Lavrov said at the news conference Thursday. A long-term solution of the Kosovo problem could be found only based on the agreement of both parties, Russia’s minister emphasized.

“We are convinced of the need to proceed with the consultations of the U.N. secretary-general both with the parties and with all those concerned in the international community,” Lavrov added.
