Georgia’s Ambassador Left Russia
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Russian Federation Erosi Kitsmarishvili left Moscow July 11, RIA Novosti reported. Russia’s policy had forced Georgia’s authorities to respond, the diplomat made clear before the flight.
Georgia decided to recall the ambassador yesterday in the wake of another escalation of the regional conflicts with its breakaway provinces Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The immediate cause was Russia’s acknowledgements of the jets’ flights above South Ossetia.

The RF Foreign Ministry emphasized that those flights were to prevent the situation from developing under the force-using scenario and to avert an armed conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia.

Official Tbilisi regarded the flights of Russia’s jets as the violation of Georgia’s air. The situation in Georgia’s-South Ossetia’s conflict area aggravated anew after the bombardment attack on Tskhinvali launched at night from July 3 to 4. South Ossetia’s leadership blamed it on Georgia.
