New Agreement of Russia, EU to Have Regional Cooperation Section
The plans are to have a regional cooperation section in the new agreement of Russia and the European Union, Vladimir Chizhov, Russia’s permanent representative to Europe, Brussels, announced Friday, RIA Novosti reported.
“Past Friday, i.e. July 4, we set to negotiating the basic agreement with EU. We suggested adding a regional cooperation section and the partners supported us,” Chizhov said during the news conference in Ekaterinburg.

Europe holds the regions' open days in October and the days of St. Petersburg were arranged past year, the official specified, adding that the chance is that the event will be repeated for the Sverdlov region.

The relations of Moscow and EU are governed by the agreement on partnership and cooperation. The previous agreement expired past December. Due to the opposition of Lithuania and Poland, the parties set to negotiations on the basic agreement only July 4.
