Zenit Not to Sell Arshavin to British Club for ˆ24mn
Un unnamed football club of Britain has failed with its £19 million bid (ˆ23.8 million) for Andrei Arshavin, the Sporting Life reported with reference to Archavin’s agent Dennis Lachter.
Attacking half-back of Zenit, Andrei Arshavin, has been most popular with the clubs after the impressive performance at Euro 2008.
"Zenit wants £24 million, so clubs who want to sign Andrei will have to get closer to that figure,” the Sporting Life quoted Lachter as saying.
Spain’s Barcelona offered ˆ15 million for Arshavin but Zenit rejected the offer, saying they will sell the key player only for twice as much. London Chelsea and Arsenal were also eager to have Arshavin.
Lachter said he doesn't know exactly when Andrei's future will be resolved, but they have the time until the end of August and can relax meanwhile.
