Russia Develops Super Tank
Designers of Uralvagonzavod plant in Nizhni Tagil are developing a super tank, which combat characteristics will exceed the characteristics of missile-armed gun tank T-90S.
“The model’s future is brilliant, it has high firepower, it is armed with guided missiles with the range of five to seven kilometers, has great endurance and nontraditional means of defense,” said Rosoboronzakaz chief Sergei Maev.
“The speed of the super-modern tank exceeds T-90 by roughly 10 to 20 km/hour to reach 60 km/hour,” Maev specified, adding that the crew will be able to conduct an operation for 24 hours without leaving the tank.
“The tank has no name of its own. It is the secret development of Nizhni Tagil tank constructors,” said Uralvagonzavod General Director Nikolay Malykh.
Maev promised earlier that T-90 tank, which has won the respect all over Russia and worldwide, will be the basic armored vehicle of the country’s army by 2025. The new tank is easily upgraded and it enables to improve combat efficiency by 1.5 fold, the official pointed out.
