Russia’s Foreign Ministry: Tbilisi Threatens Peace
The actions of Tbilisi pose real threat to the peace and security in the South Caucasus, the RF Foreign Ministry made clear in the statement.
According to the statement of Russia’s diplomats released via the ministry’s web, new evidences are emerging signaling that Georgia’s leadership is intentionally fomenting tension in relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The purpose to attain is to break the peacekeeping structure in the region that has existed for 15 years and replace it by new settlement mechanisms that would be convenient to Georgia.

The actions of Tbilisi pose a real threat to the peace and security in the South Caucasus, they may put the region on the verge of another armed conflict with unpredictable consequences, the diplomats warned.

The recent statement of the U.S. Department of State, the RF Foreign Ministry went on, could be viewed as shielding provokers. Those that despite the actual facts don’t pay attention to the danger, shield provokers and blame everything on Moscow do a disservice to today’s authorities of Georgia, as they strengthen their belief in the general permissiveness.
