TNK-BP Top Management Sanctioned to Work in Russia
Russia’s Federal Migration Service granted employment permits to eight nonresident top managers of TNK-BP, including the company’s chief Robert Dudley, RIA Novosti reported.
Nonresident top managers of TNK-BP received the respective permits in the building of the RF Federal Migration Service early Thursday in presence of journalists.
Quite a number of Russia’s media had previously reported that the foreign employees of TNK-BP may soon leave Russia due to expiration of their visas and employment permits.
“Once the documents’ execution was set into motion, it emerged that the employment permits of six top managers of the company expire July 10. So, to avoid any problems, we decided to accelerate granting permits to those employees, as well as to you and the company’s president Robert Dudley,” Oleg Artamonov, who heads the Federal Migration Service division for granting permits to nonresident employees, told TNK-BP Vice President Clark Cridland.
The extent of attracting nonresidents to TNK-BP is one of the mostly disputed matters for the company’s co-owners. Other stumbling blocks are the strategy and management of the venture.
TNK-BP is owned parri passu by BP and Russia’s AAR consortium of Alfa Group, Access and Renova.
