Russia, NATO Still Disagree on CFE, Missiles
Russia and NATO discussed joint antiterrorism exercises, Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov told journalists in Brussels on Friday. According to Serdyukov, the other defense ministers thanked Russia for the agreement on cargo transit to Afghanistan and gave high marks to submarine rescue exercises in Norway. They also discussed antiterrorism exercises.
Serdyukov characterized Russia-NATO relations as being “on a high enough level.” He also noted that the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe and the U.S. missile defense system remain points of contention between the two sides.
