Russia to Press For Ouster of UNMIK Chief
It emerged that Chief of the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) Joachim Ruecker is attempting to wind up the UNMIK activities in that self-proclaimed province of Serbia, which independence has been recognized by quite a number of states already. The RF Foreign Ministry will press for his ouster, says the statement of its spokesman released via the web of the ministry Thursday.
The RF Foreign Ministry reported about the winding-up attempts of UNMIK chief with reference to a representative of the media, who refused to leak the source of the information, containing to the vague wording of “the information is incoming.”

Of interest is that the ministry’s spokesman Andrei Nesterenko comments on the news without doubting the validity, calling the incoming information blatant arbitrariness.

The halt of the UN Mission in Kosovo hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but Kosovo President Ramush Haradinaj urged peacekeepers to pull out of the country in early June.
