Georgia Not to Pull Out Troops despite Abkhazia’s Ultimatum
Georgia won’t yield to the ultimatum of Abkhazia, Interfax reported with reference to Giorgi Baramidze, the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
Our units will be stationed in Georgia’s territory wherever required and we won’t ask for permission of separatists or their masters, Baramidze was emphatic when commenting on the statement of Abkhazia’s President Sergei Bagapsh. Bagapsh demanded immediate withdrawal of Georgia’s troops from Kodori Gorge.

Unlike Russia and the separatists, Georgia has violated none of agreements for the conflict area in Abkhazia, the minister pointed out.

As to inking the cease-fire agreement, no problem with us provided the European Union would be the real guarantor under this agreement instead of Russia, Baramidze specified.
