Video to Help Contain Hazing in Military
Military investigators have suggested arranging video surveillance in the barracks to prevent hazing and humiliating treatment of soldiers, Interfax reported.
“Nowadays, practically each sixth crime probed into by military investigators directly relates to violent actions against servicemen. Of them unfortunately, no more than each third crime has been revealed by commanding chiefs of the units,” said Alexander Sorochkin, who heads Military Investigating Department of the RF Prosecutor Office Investigating Committee.

Sorochkin voiced his proposal due to big numbers of crimes of violence in the military units.

The official urged to be more active when introducing devices of video control in the army. “It will allow shifting from subjective treatment of accidents by certain officers to objective control over behavior of the servicemen,” he specified.
