Dima Bilan Triumphs in Eurovision
// Dima Bilan took first place in Eurovision 2008
With his “Believe,” Russia’s Dima Bilan won 272 points in the final voting. So, the next Eurovision contest will be held in Moscow.
Ukraine’s Ani Lorak finished second scoring 230 points. She performed a song “Shady Lady,” composed by Filipp Kirkorov.

Greece’s Kalomira ranked third gaining 218 points with her “Secret Combination.”

The 53rd Eurovision contest was held in Belgrade on the night of May 25. The “Russia” channel broadcast the show live.

It’s the first time in history that Russia wins the Eurovision final. Before it, Alsou’s “silver” in 2000 and Dima Bilan’s “silver” in 2006 were Russia’s greatest achivements.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Russia’s team on their victory.
