Microsoft Chief Visited Moscow
Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer spoke at the REMIX conference in Moscow May 23, defining the computer future to Russia’s developers and emphasizing, amid other things, the vital role of software creators, including creators of web applications.
According to Steve Ballmer, the biggest achievement of Microsoft is its target at business users. He expects the yield on Xbox, Xbox Live and Internet search in the nearest five years and views Internet Explorer and .Net as the products of greatest success.
Steve Ballmer refused to disclose details of the deals with Yahoo, but emphasized that its purchase had never been viewed strategic and the company had $50 billion to spend on other acquisitions.
Asked whether Microsoft would release two versions of standards for nonstandard solutions, Ballmer said the company endeavors both to meet requirements of users and be in line with the standards.
If he faced a task to develop startup, it would be something of use to the small business, the official said, specifying that immense opportunities are opening there.
