Russia Stood for Moscow Mayor
Russia has taken adequate actions against a few policymakers of Ukraine in response to the ban that Kiev imposed on visits of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, says a statement of the RF Foreign Ministry.
“In the context of Ukrainian leadership’s decision to ban Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov from visiting Ukraine, Russia’s Foreign Ministry notifies that Russia has been forced to decide on adequate actions in relation to Ukrainian policymakers, whose actions and statements are to the detriment of the Russian Federation,” the RF Foreign Ministry announced in the statement on banning Russia’s visits for some officials of Ukraine.

Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov challenged Ukrainian ownerhsip of Sevastopol May 11, during the celebration of the 225th anniversary of the RF Black Sea Fleet in that city of Ukrainian Crimea. According to Luzhkov, Russia should have Sevastopol back under its jurisdiction.

When Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev handed over Crimea to Ukraine, the mayor specified, he hadn't properly executed it, and everything had been given without mentioning Sevastopol.
