Duma Set to Putin’s Approval
The lower house of Russia’s parliament, the State Duma, has set to deliberations on Vladimir Putin’s endorsement as the prime minister of the country.
President Dmitry Medvedev proposed Vladimir Putin as the future PM of Russia yesterday, straight after the inauguration.
Medvedev is expected to take the floor at today’s sitting of the State Duma, and Putin will address the parliament members after the president. He will answer their questions in the next effort, and the whole procedure will hardly take more than half an hour.
Spokesmen of factions will voice their standing on the issue and the State Duma will vote on it at around 2:00 p.m. MSK.
United Russia that enjoys the overwhelming majority of 315 seats in the State Duma, has expressed its entire support already and LDPR (40), and Fair Russia (38) will back up Putin as well, but the Communist Party of the RF (CPRF; 57 seats) intends to vote against the PM authority of the previous president.
