Georgia: Information on Hit Aircraft Is Russia’s Provocation
Georgia’s Foreign Ministry called provocation the statement that Abkhazia’s missile-defense systems shot down two spy drones of Georgia in the conflict area on May 4.
The reports of Russia’s media referring to the so-called Defense Ministry of Abkhazia about shooting down two spy drones of Georgia were the information and propaganda support for Russia’s military intervention, Georgia’s Foreign Ministry announced in the statement.

The attempts of so-called peacekeepers to restrict the sovereign right of Georgia to control its own airspace is targeted at escalating conflict and threatens peace and security, Georgia’s Foreign Ministry specified.

According to Sukhumi, two spy drones of Georgia were shot down May 4, 2008. Abkhazia’s President Sergei Bagapsh ordered to hit any targets breaching the airspace of that unrecognized republic.

The fact that Georgia’s spy drones again appeared in the airspace above Abkhazia manifests that Tbilisi had ignored continuous warning of Russia about the danger of breaking the Moscow Agreement on Ceasefire and Forces Division of May 14, 1994 as well as the respective resolutions of the U.N. Security Council, including Resolution 1808 of April 15, 2008, said the RF Foreign Ministry.
