Nuclear Equipment Leaves Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan has allowed the Russian equipment intended for the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran through its border into that country, the Azeri Lider television channel reports. According to the television channel, the Russian embassy in Azerbaijan presented the necessary documents for the cargo on April 30. After an examination of the documents, the equipment was passed through Azeri customs.
The insulating equipment for the construction of the Bushehr nuclear power plant had been held on the Azeri-Iranian border since March 29. The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan detained the cargo due to the absence of a special permit for its transit that the country's government required.
