Asian Share in Russia’s Oil Exports to Widen to 30%
The share of Asia in Russia’s exports of crude oil will step up from today’s 3 percent to 30 percent in 2020, said Evgeny Afanasiev, who is Russia’s ambassador to United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), RIA Novosti reported.
For Asia and the Pacific, this issue is of particular significance. It primarily results from the booming economic growth and high industrialization rate in the Asian and Pacific states that happens in the environment of rising prices for energy resources, the diplomat said.

As to the gas industry, the projects implemented under the Program for Creating the Unified System of Gas Production, Transportation and Supplies in view of potential exports to Asian and Pacific markets will be the basis of this cooperation.

ESCAP could form a solid ground for the dialogue between energy producers and consumers in the Asian and Pacific states aimed at ensuring the energy security and the quest for the most efficient solutions of energy problems, Afanasiev specified.
