Ukrainian President Not to Attend Inauguration of Russia’s President
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko won’t attend the inauguration of Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev, reported Ukrainskaya Pravda Internet edition. The event is slated for May 7, 2008.
Viktor Yushchenko made the respective statement in time of yesterday’s news conference. Only ambassadors of foreign states have been invited, the president explained, specifying, however, that he plans to visit Moscow in late May to meet Russia’s new president. The respective agreement with current President Vladimir Putin has been attained already, Yushchenko said.

Yushchenko said he would like Medvedev to pay the first visit to Ukraine in president’s capacity. Kiev is all for the active dialogue with Moscow and will be always speaking the language of respect, the language of dignity even for the most ticklish questions. the president went on.

When touching upon the situation in Ukraine, Yushchenko said that the government and the national bank don’t take enough efforts to contain the inflation. Inflation is the test for authorities, the test for the government. What happens today is the yellow card, the president pointed out.
