Putin Certain of Relations Continuity with Italy
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin doesn’t doubt continuity of friendship and cooperation with Italy.
The mere fact of our today’s meeting shows the general sentiment for further strengthening the partnership of Russia and Italy, Putin announced at the news conference after meeting with Italy’s Prime Minister-elect Silvio Berlusconi.

Silvio Berlusconi will lead the cabinet in Italy for the third time in his career and Putin arrived in Sardinia for an overnight private visit on his return from Libya.

Domestic political events in Russia and Italy shouldn’t affect friendship of the countries, Putin said, confirming anew Russia’s interest in developing ties with Italy.
