Ivanov: A Complete Outrage Goes On in the Sea of Okhotsk
Nonresident companies damage Russia’s economy near the eastern coast of the country, in the Sea of Okhotsk, Russia’s First Vice Premier Sergei Ivanov announced during the sitting of the Government’s Naval Board.
The activities of foreign fishery companies in the so-called grey zone of the shelf, which border line hasn't been finally determined, are predatory, Sergei Ivanov said. “A complete outrage goes on there,” the first vice premier was emphatic.

In the Far East, Russia’s coast guards continuously oppose poaching of foreign (mostly Japanese) fishers, referring to warning fire from time to time. The Japanese government, however, openly supports the fishers that violate Russia’s laws and even lodged a complaint to the U.N. Tribunal past year, blaming on Russia illegal detention of two fishing boats on suspected poaching.
