Americans Pressurized Bout to Fly to U.S. without Award of Thai Court
The U.S. representatives have attempted to fly Russia’s citizen Viktor Bout to the United States, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the interview of Bout’s brother Sergei Bout to the Echo Moskvy Broadcaster. The attempt was made without any award of the court and without notifying Bout’s representatives, Sergei specified.
Viktor Bout was detained in Thailand on illegal arms traffic on March 6, 2008. He is also charged with aiding terrorism. Bout hasn’t admitted the guilt, claiming he arrived in Bangkok as a tourist and that he had committed no crimes either in Thailand, where he had spent just three hours before the arrest, or in the United States and that he had never had any ties with terrorists.

It emerged on Wednesday that the Thai authorities wouldn’t present any charges to Bout, but the Russian is still in prison, where he may stay until the United States provides the request for his extradition.

The RF Foreign Ministry stepped in, pledging to take all necessary actions to avert violation of rights of Russia’s citizen.
