Poland’s President Played Back Threats to Russia, EU
Poland's President Lech Kaczynski refuted the information that Poland conditions lifting its veto on European Union’s partnership talks with Russia to NATO’s agreement to grant MAP to Ukraine and Georgia, RIA Novosti reported referring to the president’s statement made at the Helsinki conference.
Poland’s president has actually refuted his interview to Reuters, where he tied the NATO membership of Georgia and Ukraine to the EU relations with Russia.

"I must tie these two issues together even though I would prefer not to," he said as quoted by Reuters. "I would first like to know how the issue of MAP for Ukraine and Georgia is going to be resolved," the president said when asked if Poland would lift the veto on EU-Russia’s talks.
