Public Chamber Suggests Castrating Pedophiles
The chemical castration could be applied to convicted pedophiles, says the statement that the RF Public Chamber is elaborating.
The castration will be applied if the sexual violence against the underaged is proven. Voluntary agreement of the convict to the chemical castration is also required, pointed out Anatoly Kucherena from the Public Chamber.
The castration is aimed at preventing convicted criminals from raping the underaged again. Decapeptil could be used for this purpose, as it suppresses the testosterone production. Although rarely, the drug may lead to grave aftereffects, including the rise in blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, etc.
The castration proposal of the Public Chamber has solid grounds. The cases of pedophilia have become more frequent in Russia and, under the statistics, some 50 percent of pedophiles repeat the crime during five years after leaving the prison.
