Patrushev Blamed Terrorism Support on Foreign NGOs
FSB Director Nikolay Patrushev has accused foreign NGOs of taking recruits in Russia for the world terrorists. Patrushev made the respective statement at the meeting of National Anti-Terrorism Committee, Interfax reported.
The emissaries of international extremist organizations use “existing social and economic problems, ethno-national and religious contradictions,” said Patrushev, who is the chief of National Anti-Terrorism Committee in addition to being the FSB director. “To the considerable extent, certain foreign nongovernmental organizations provide the informational support to them,” Patrushev specified.

Patrushev’s proposal is to oppose terrorism not only by force but also by withstanding the propagation of ideology. The official said they are shaping a complex program of informational opposition to terrorism in 2008 through 2012, which will be discussed with the chiefs of the biggest mass media.
