NATO Takes Moscow Into Account, Rogozin Said
Russia has turned into an essential factor when NATO makes its decisions, Russia’s Envoy to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said in the interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
“We have attained all tasks,” Rogozin concluded when commenting on the recent summit of the alliance in Bucharest, where no MAP was granted to Ukraine and Georgia. “The plans of NATO’s eastward expansion, for instance, haven’t reached the implementation stage but remained just the plans. Despite the nice words addressed to Kiev and Tbilisi, no MAP was granted to Ukraine and Georgia.”

Before the summit, Rogozin went on, there were great doubts about the willingness of alliance to consider the opinion of Moscow when arriving at some material decisions.

“We can’t say the situation has completely changed in our favor. Nevertheless, the fact is the fact. Russia has become an integral factor when making all decisions of NATO. And it is an extremely vital result,” Rogozin said, adding that Russia will proceed with warning about unconvertible aftereffects that will follow the acceptance of Georgia and Ukraine to the alliance.
