Medvedev Opened Russia’s Internet Forum
President-Elect Dmitry Medvedev opened April 3 Russia’s Internet Forum. Roughly 40 million are Internet users in Russia, the official said.
The traffic is surging in Runet, online trade is developing, Medvedev specified. The worth of the Internet market is estimated at 11 billion rubles and the market is booming. The market of online payments is worth about 300 billion rubles, according to Medvedev.
The government, Medvedev went on, backs up various Internet projects, Gramota.ru, for instance. Each public employee should have a PC on the table, he said.
Medvedev mentioned some social nets in the speech. He said he found 630 Dmitry Medvedevs at odnoklassniki.ru, some of them even looking like him.
Medvedev reminded that the laws are to be observed everywhere and Internet is no exception. The government’s standing towards Internet should be loyal, the official specified.
