World Views Russia More Positively
The attitude to Russia showed the greatest improvement past year, signaled the survey held by the international polling firm GlobeScan with the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA) at the University of Maryland, BBC reported.
The poll covered nearly 17,500 of 34 states worldwide. Of all countries, Russia showed the biggest growth in percentage of people, who started viewing it better. Nowadays, some 37 percent view Russia positively vs. 29 percent past year. The number of states with negative attitude sank from 40 percent to 33 percent. Some 12 countries manifested even the higher growth in Russia’s popularity.

The United States is another country, which image is improving. The percentage of people speaking about the positive influence of that country stepped up from 31 percent to 35 percent.

Of all countries rated, Iran and Israel led in negative evaluation. Although Israel manifested certain improvement, Iran remained the leader in the list of most negatively viewed nations.

Japan and Germany are traditionally viewed most positively.

The poll was a part of a regular survey of world opinion. The respondents were asked to rate the influence of Brazil, Britain, China, France, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, North Korea, Pakistan, the United States and Russia.
