Yushchenko’s Office Urges Tymoshenko to Be Modest
Yulia Tymoshenko’s government exaggerates its 100-day achievements, said Alexander Shlapak, first deputy chief of president’s office.
“The president and we all are certainly happy about the achievements of Ukrainian government. But I also think they should be more modest in evaluating their results and achievements. Anyway, at least a few points in what I’ve heard have shocked my ears – that is the attribution of absolute merit for WTO exactly to this government. I don’t think it corresponds to reality,” Shlapak said Wednesday after the sitting of Ukrainian cabinet dedicated to the first 100 days of activities.
“Only one problem has been mentioned – the inflation. We [the president’s office] have been always saying that there are much more of them. In particular, we have no settled relations for the gas situation in the country,” the official specified, pointing out, however, that the start of the government’s work “was fairy good.”
Led by Tymoshenko, the Ukrainian cabinet proceeded to business December 18, 2007.
