The Nation Voted for Medvedev Thanks to Putin
Most of the Russians voted for Medvedev, as they trusted him and believed to continue the policy of President Vladimir Putin, showed the recent sociological polls.
Each fourth Russian that backed up Dmitry Medvedev at March 2 presidential election explained the choice by the fact that exactly Medvedev would continue the policy of Vladimir Putin.

For each fifth, the key argument was the trust inspired by Medvedev and each tenth was satisfied with election program of that policymaker. Another 7 percent viewed Medvedev the most worthy candidate and 5 percent thought him a promising statesman, people in All-Russia’s Center for Public Opinion Studies told Interfax referring to the poll that was held March 8 and 9 in 46 regions of the country.

Therefore, over a half of respondents that voted for Medvedev trust him and expect to proceed with Vladimir Putin’s policy.

Another 26 percent of respondents voted for Medvedev without any definite reasons, at least they were unable to explain their choice. Some 6 percent said there was no one to vote for except Dmitry Medvedev.

Of all respondents that voted against Medvedev at the recent election, some 26 percent failed to explain the reasons. The remaining portion attributed the choice to loyalty to another candidate (14 percent) or said they trusted only Gennady Zyuganov and the Communist Party (15 percent) or Vladimir Zhirinovsky and LDPR (3 percent).

Some 3 percent didn’t vote for Medvedev to manifest their protest or because he was Putin’s successor (5 percent), dependent policymaker (2 percent) or the person whom they disliked (2 percent).
