Moscow Studies Potential Risks
Today’s concern of Moscow is to understand to what extent new missile defense proposals of Washington eliminate the risks for Russia that will emerge once the components of the U.S. missile defense shield are finally stationed in Europe. The United States made the proposals during the recent two-plus-two negotiations in Moscow, RF Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
“These proposals should be studied in detail together with the diplomats, military, experts, and this study is currently underway,” Lavrov said.

“The U.S. missile-defense system is a unilateral project and some of its aspects, including setting up the third positional region, create risks for Russia. The U.S. proposals will be considered in view to what extent they eliminate these risks,” Lavrov explained.
