Russia’s Central Election Commission Refutes Rumors
The RF Central Election Commission has refuted the allegations about going to law against some foreign media that reported about violations during the presidential election in Russia.
But having denied the rumors, the Central Election Commission hasn’t completely crossed out the possibility of lodging such suits in future. So, the election authority of Russia may attempt to challenge in court the reporters for coverage and/or evaluation of the recent presidential election.

Central Election Commission Chairman Vladimir Churov officially announced the results of presidential election March 7, specifying that there are two presidents in today’s Russia – current President Vladimir Putin and President-Elect Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev won with the majority vote of 70.28 percent – some 52,530,712 voted for him March 2. Communist leader Gennady Zuganov was backed up by 17.72 percent (13,243,550), LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky got 9.35 percent (6,988,510) and Andrei Bogdanov had 1.3 percent (968,344).
