No One Believes in Dollar in Russia
U.S. dollar lost 1.5 percent to Russia’s ruble in the first minutes of the MICEX special trading March 13.
The first deal was clinched at 23.50 ruble/dollar on MICEX, that is 35 kopecks below the official exchange rate that the Central Bank of Russia set for March 13.
U.S. dollar suffers the losses vs. Russia’s ruble for the second trading day running. But the decline has accelerated today – the dollar went down by no more than a copeck yesterday.
The decline of this extent in Russia roots in the global depreciation of dollar. A euro costs $1.5555 now, although the price was roughly $1.5365 at 10:10 a.m. MSK yesterday. Therefore, the European currency appreciated some 1.2 percent vs. U.S. dollar from March 12.
