Ridley Scott to Make a Film about Reagan, Gorbachev
Sir Ridley Scott plans to make a film about late U.S. president Ronald Reagan and Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev, BBC News reported.
The yet untitled project will focus on the 1986 summit in Reykjavik that was dedicated to arms control. Although no agreement was attained during that event, it became a benchmark in bilateral negotiations on disarmament.
“I want to show who they were and why they did what they did,” Sir Ridley said as quoted by BBC News. His agents visited Reykjavik and were sanctioned to make a movie in the historical house, which hosted the summit.
Mr Scott whose last movie was "American Gangster" police drama intends to launch the film in 2009.
