Chelsea Calculated Money Injected by Abramovich
Russia’s businessman Roman Abramovich, who bought Britain’s Chelsea soccer club in summer of 2003, has invested £578 million ($1,134 million) in the team during four years and a half, tribalfootball.com said with reference to Chelsea's annual report.
Chelsea suffered the loss of £74.8 million in 2007. Regardless, Chief Executive Peter Kenyon affirms that the team will have the deficit-free budget in 2010.
Chelsea has materially trimmed its costs for attracting new players, spending just £11.7 million for this purpose in 2007 vs. £84.5 million in 2006 and £126.7 million in 2005.
