Putin Orders to Buy More Modern Aircraft for Defense
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has ordered to adjust the government’s weapons program and step up the purchase of modern jets for the RF Air Force.
“I don’t think it’s acceptable when foreign buyers receive the most high-tech combat jets from Russia and domestic Air Force mostly contains to upgrading the jets made many years ago,” President Vladimir Putin said during the presentation of the research and innovation facilities in Moscow's satellite town of Zhukovsky February 20, 2008.
“I think it’s necessary to adjust the State Program of Armaments and increase the purchase of modern aircraft for the needs of the country’s defense,” the president pointed out.
