KFOR Peacekeepers Sealed Northern Kosovo
KFOR peacekeepers have sealed the northern borders of Kosovo after Feb 19 disorders, BBC News reported. The plan is to close the borders for 24 hours to begin with, representatives of peacekeepers made clear.
The U.S. soldiers of KFOR shut the main road from Kosovo to Serbia, while Estonian and French troopers closed the way to Montenegro. The move of the NATO-led KFOR cut from Serbia the northern Kosovo, where the Serbs are in the majority.

Earlier, the Serbian National Assembly in Kosovo and Metohia urged the Serbian authorities to take adequate steps in support of the Serbian minority in the province. Official Belgrade hasn’t responded to the call so far and it is yet to comment on the incidents happened in the Serbian enclaves in Kosovo.

On February 19, a group of Serbs used machinery and explosives to demolish the border posts in northern Kosovo in response to the independence declaration of February 17.
