Deripaska Tops the List of Russia’s Fat Cats
Oleg Deripaska has topped the ranking of Russia’s wealthiest people compiled by Finance magazine, Vedomosti reported.
Deripaska had $40 billion at close of 2007, according to Finance. The permanent leader of 2004 to 2006, Roman Abramovich ($23 billion), sank to the second position, while Vladimir Lisin (Novolipetsk Iron & Steel Works) was the last of the leading trio with the estimated wealth of $22.2 billion.
Alfa Group owner Mikhail Fridman has as much as Lisin, Finance calculated giving the fourth score to him. The wealth of Severstal owner Alexei Mordashov is estimated at $22.1 billion.
The list of top 10 wealthiest persons of Russia also sets forth Vladimir Potanin ($21.5 billion), Mikhail Prokhorov ($21.5 billion), Suleiman Kerimov ($18 billion), Viktor Vekselberg ($15.5 billion) and Alfa Group co-owner German Khan ($15 billion).
