Putin to Attend April Summit of NATO
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will attend April summit of NATO, Reuters reported.
"We have received confirmation,” Reuters quoted NATO spokesman James Appathurai as saying. The official was speaking about Putin’s intention to go to Bucharest and hold negotiations with presidents and prime ministers of NATO states.
Although the event’s agenda is yet unknown, the parties are likely to deliberate on such issues as Kosovo, deployment of the U.S. missile-defense facilities in Eastern Europe and eastward expansion of NATO.
The summit will be held in Bucharest, Romania, from April 2 through 4. Russia elects a new president March 2, but Putin won't step down till May.
